This Cookie Policy explains which cookies the European Peace Research Association (EuPRA, "we", "us") uses on www.euprapeace.org and how you can control them. For more about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page views, such as the fact that you are logged in.
Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and our website statistics are collected without cookies. The only cookies we set ourselves are those the website needs to work.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the website and its forms to function. They are not used to track you.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSESS… | euprapeace.org | Keeps you logged in after you sign in. Only set when you log in. | Until you log out or the session expires |
| eupra_policy_concent, eupra_policy_concent-version | euprapeace.org | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again on every page. | 100 days |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud prevention during card payments. Only set on payment pages. | 1 year / 30 minutes |
| hCaptcha | hcaptcha.com | Tells people apart from automated spam bots on forms such as registration and contact forms. Only used on pages with a protected form. | Session |
Website statistics (Matomo)
We use Matomo, an open-source analytics tool, to see how our website is used, for example which pages are visited most. Our Matomo installation runs on a server in the EU and is configured not to use cookies. It respects your browser's "Do Not Track" setting, and the statistics are used only by EuPRA and never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
Embedded videos (YouTube)
Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube. These are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set cookies until you play a video. If you press play, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and process data under Google's privacy policy.
How can I control cookies?
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the "Privacy settings" button on our website. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the site, such as logging in, will not work.
The following pages explain how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:
Brave, Firefox and Safari block third-party cookies by default; in Chrome and Edge you need to change the settings yourself.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed.
