EuPRA is delighted to announce the two keynote speakers for the 2026 European Peace Research Association conference, Reclaiming Peace and Cultivating Hope Beyond the Crisis Narrative: Towards Accountability and Action, taking place in Sarajevo from 4 to 6 November 2026 at Hotel Europe, in partnership with the Post-Conflict Research Center.
Both keynotes speak directly to the questions at the heart of the conference: how peace research might reckon with its own histories, how marginalised knowledges and experiences can be foregrounded rather than explained away, and what it means to practice peace as justice, as repair, as accountability, and as radical hope.
Frank Möller
Frank Möller currently works as a Senior Research Fellow at the Tampere Peace Research Institute, Tampere University, Finland. His main research focusses on visual peace research, the visualisation of peace and the relationship between art and peace. His most recent book is Peace, Complexity, Visuality: Ambiguities in Peace and Conflict (Palgrave Macmillan 2023), written with Rasmus Bellmer. Frank's current work is well documented on the website Image & Peace, created together with Bellmer.
Frank's attention to ambiguity, to what images make visible and what they quietly leave out, offers a way of thinking past the flattening effects of the crisis narrative. His keynote connects closely with the conference theme Arts, Media and Digital Peace Practices, and with the wider invitation to engage artistic and embodied practices as forms of knowledge in their own right.
Slađana Lazić
Sladjana Lazic (she/they, PhD) is a scholar and educator focusing on the questions of peace and justice, politics of knowledge production in PACS, anti- and decolonial approaches to thinking/knowing/doing peace otherwise,and the post-Yugoslav space. They are one of the co-founders of the YugoslaWomen+Collective and serve as an assistant professor of Peace and Conflict studies, and Speaker of the InnPeace Research Center at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Together withElena Stavrevska, Sladjana co-edited the Special Issue on “Peace in Plural: Towards Decolonial and Feminist Approaches to Peace”.
